Before joining the school, Tim served the church as the Executive Director of Leadership and Missions at Westside, and has been an elder and part of the pastoral team since 2011, a role he continues to fulfill. In the role of Executive Director of the school, Tim uses his vision and ability to see the potential of the future to mobilize the people around him to step forward into what God has called them to be. He hears his calling in life to awaken the current generation to follow Jesus as He followed the Father. His mission is to disciple and equip a generation to know, love, and follow the Lord their God. Tim’s extensive background in missions, doing everything from church planting in Scotland to evangelistic ministry in Nepal, brings practical experience to share with students. Tim is married to his wife Britany and has 4 wonderful children. Favorite Quote: “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” - C.S. Lewis

Executive Director and Mission Stream Leader

Richard’s position is unique among the rest of the school’s staff in that he moved to Portland from England specifically to work with the school. He brings with him a wealth of experience, serving as a college pastor and worship leader for the last ten years, as well as a Bible college and University teacher. Richard is also a Christian academic with a BSc in Physics and Philosophy, MAs in Philosophy, Theology and Ethics, a PhD in Philosophical Theology, and has published various articles. A driving force for Richard is his desire to have a foot in the church helping people think about how to articulate their faith in a way that enables them to be authentic and mature; and to have a foot in the world exploring the barriers to engaging with God that can be broken down, sharing Jesus with people, and equipping the church to connect with the unreached in our culture. This goal encompasses the students he works with, as he enables students to learn how to grow in Jesus, follow their calling, and mature in themselves all with clear, articulated purpose. His goal is to see a new generation of leaders stepping into their communities with passion for Jesus, a mature walk with him, and satisfying answers to the penetrating questions people are bothered by. He moved to beautiful Portland in 2015 with his wife and three children. Favourite Author: St. Anselm

Michael serves Westside as the Music Manager, where he helps with the music/musicians in the Youth, The Bridge, and Sunday gatherings since its beginning in 2004. Something that brings Michael joy, and helps him in his role with the school, is his drive to help people innovate and succeed in their vocation and their efforts to further Jesus’ Kingdom. Michael believes that the culture and people of the school, Westside, and Portland are moving towards the next big movement in worship. He wants to encourage and empower the students to challenge the status quo and desire something different. Portland, and the world at large, needs the positive influence of Jesus’ Kingdom, and Michael aspires to usher in that change. He lives downtown Portland with his wife Monica and their 2 year old cat. Favorite Quote: "Don't be afraid. Meaning will come with the thing itself.” - George MacDonald

Daniel has been with Westside since 2008 where he serves as a House Church leader, Bible Study teacher, Missional Community leader, and House of Learning teacher. He has also spoken at Men's trips, set up chairs, torn down chairs, gone on missions trips, and tried to be involved in any area he can. He is currently on staff as an embedded church planter, and working to establish the Tualatin Gathering. An eclectic background of unique experiences taught Daniel numerous skills that all come into play for his role with the school. Growing up in the mission field in Europe taught him how to be flexible while his time as a financial planner gave him an understanding of how to develop sustainable budgets. His natural inclination towards planning anchors his talents, which he uses to further his goal of seeing lives transformed. His desire is to see people grow in their love for God and to live sacrificially for Him. He keeps the school moving and growing by equipping the people around him. He is married to Jillian and they have a baby daughter. Karly McGill serves as the Administrative Specialist to help implement the school vision in tangible ways. Prior to joining the team at the school, Karly became involved with Westside’s prayer team, helping in the prayer room on Sundays and serving as a leader with the college age group, The Bridge.  Helping people succeed and thrive is both something Karly excels at and something she takes joy in. Her servant’s heart helps her to quickly identify needs around her and immediately move to fill those needs to enable the people around her to succeed. Karly believes that receiving Gods loves compels us to love and help others. A large part of what she brings to the school is helping people see themselves how God sees them, revealing their true identity. From this knowledge, people find joy in His blessings and are able to know how loved and appreciated they are. Favorite Book: Garden City by John Mark Comer
